Life Cycle
In 2011, the Vice-Chancellor cycled 1,030 miles from John O'Groats to Land's End. He and his team raised £230,000 for research on palliative and end of life care.
In 2012, he cycled 1,100 miles from Cape Wrath to Dover to raise funds to help improve access to further and higher education for young people from disadvantaged backgrounds. Life Cycle 2 raised £251,000.

In summer 2013, he will lead a team of 12 to take on the most challenging ride yet: 1,100+ miles covering the capitals and major cities of the UK and Republic of Ireland to raise money for Stroke Rehabilitation Research.

Teaching and research interests
The Vice-Chancellor continues to lecture on a Year One ‘Current Economic Issues’ undergraduate module in The School of Economics.
