Buses between Nottingham and Derby

**The Red Arrow, operated by Trent Barton, is a non-stop service from QMC to Derby bus station.

Before 9am, travel from Nottingham to Royal Derby Hospital costs £7 per day - ask for a 'Royal Derby transfer ticket' when boarding in Nottingham. After 9am, a 'zigzag' ticket costs £5, allowing unlimited travel on Trent Barton buses.

Buses from Nottingham train station

For University Park campus, the bus stops closest to the train station are Broadmarsh bus station (for Trent Barton’s Indigo services) or Canal Street (for Nottingham City Transport’s 13 and 14 services).

For Jubilee campus, take any of the services listed above that start from the city. They depart from the northern side of the city centre, so you may want to use the free Centrelink bus to get around the city centre.

Buses from East Midlands Airport

There is a 24 hour Skylink bus service from East Midlands Airport to Nottingham City Centre. Buses run every 30 minutes until midnight, then hourly until 4am when the half hourly service resumes. The service goes past the University Park Campus (on route to Nottingham Broadmarsh bus station) and goes to Sutton Bonington (on route to Loughborough).

Taxis

Avoid rogue and unlicensed taxi drivers - Nottingham City Council licenses two types of vehicles - Hackney Carriages and Private Hire vehicles. If you get into a Private Hire car without pre-booking it (that is - you stop it or find it in the street) you may not be covered by insurance. Private Hire drivers call this 'flying' and they know they are breaking the law. If you are involved in an accident you will experience difficulty in claiming for any damage or injuries.
