Here are a few videos showing our Engineering Researchers in action
This film showcases examples of innovative manufacturing at the Nottingham Innovative Manufacturing Research Centre (NIMRC), based at the University of Nottingham.
Featured are Ifty Ahmed, Richard Brooks, Phil Webb, Peter Standring, Nabil Gindy, Janice Yelland-Sutcliffe, Janet Folkes, Seamus Garvey and Kevin Phuah - plus a few others.
University of Nottingham scientist Janet Folkes is out in the University of Nottingham balloon again - this time joining her fellow pilots at Chatsworth House.
Ahead of Chatsworth's Country Fair (where Janet will be flying), this is a balloon "photo call" where the only enemy looks like being the weather!
Thermoplastic composite sandwich structures!
Not the catchiest name, but Richard Brooks says they could lead to lighter, cheaper and safer parts for cars.
Here he demonstrates how they're made and - perhaps more interestingly - how they're tested.
This is some footage shot at the Centre of Excellence in Customised Assembly (CECA) in Nottingham
They have a range of machines devoted to making and measuring things at the smallest scales, including injection moulded parts which would fit on the back of an ant!
The University of Nottingham's motorcycle simulator, and other work by Dr Alex Stedmon, feature on BBC East Midlands Today.
This is the first part of a three-part series about motorcycling in the East Midlands. Alex also features in part three.
