The Division of Clinical Neurology was established in the Faculty of Medicine in September 1992 with the appointment of Professor Lance Blumhardt.
Currently the division is headed by Professor Constantinescu. We have an associate professor, Dr Gran, and several neurology research registrars. There is also a research physicist, and a research technician within the division.
As well as the research staff, and support staff, there are several PhD students within the division.
Established in 1994, is now internationally recognised by many leading pharmaceutical companies, and remains very active conducting clinical trials among people with multiple sclerosis.
Find out about our WiRMS trial.
Within the division of clinical Neurology we largely focus on multiple sclerosis (MS). There is a diversity of approaches to the research : magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), immunology, and pathology in MS.
We are developing our own MRI image analysis software (NeuRoi), which can be downloaded and used freely.
