Research awarded further £210,000 to study amniotic membrane for treating eye injuries on the battlefield

Description
Dr Andrew Hopkinson of the Division of Ophthalmology & Visual Sciences has secured a further £210,000 from the Defence Science and Technology Laboratory to validate in vivo and endorse the medical exploitation of a novel dry amniotic membrane (AM) product.

Study on role of corneal nerves in cornea diseases published in American Journal of Ophthalmology

Description
Research findings indicate that corneal nerves are not passive bystanders but participate dynamically in diseases processes affecting the cornea.
