Biography

Oliver maintains primary research interests in the economic effects of aid and in trade policy reform, especially in Africa . He joined Nottingham in 1989 and was promoted to his current position in 2004. He has published many articles in international journals, mostly on aid policy and effectiveness , trade policy reform , conditionality and adjustment, and supply response in agriculture.

Research Summary

Present research concentrates on the fiscal impact of aid; EU- ACP economic relationships; trade policy, performance and poverty; and the political economy of policy reform.
