Three of the new professors have been appointed because of their outstanding teaching, reflecting the emphasis the University places on the student learning experience and the importance of excellence and innovation in the lecture theatre.

Vice-Chancellor, Professor David Greenaway, said: "Chairing the Promotions Committees allows me to see at first hand the quality of the cases coming forward and the enthusiastic support received from external Referees.

"It is essential that we continue to invest in our academic community in this way and I am absolutely delighted that so many colleagues have been successful.  Their applications were a credit to our University and I offer all my warmest congratulations to all."
