Stain for mucin

SOUTHGATES MUCICARMINE

1. Sections to water.

2. Stain nuclei with Harris's haematoxylin for approximately 2 minutes.

3. Wash in tap water

4. Stain in Southgates mucicarmine for 20 minutes.

5. Wash in tap water.

6. Dehydrate, clear . Mount sections in DPX

RESULTS

--Nuclei blue

--Mucins red
