VON KOSSA

1. Sections to water.

2. Place sections in 1% silver nitrate solution under ultra- violet light for 45 minutes.

3. Wash in distilled water.

4. Treat with 3% sodium thiosulphate for 5 minutes.

5. Wash in water.

6. Counterstain with van Gieson for 5 minutes.

7. Wash in alcohol.

8. Clear . Mount sections in DPX


RESULTS

Mineralised bone black Osteoid red


SOLUTIONS

VAN GIESON --1% acid fuchsin 7.5 mls

--Saturated picric acid 92.5 mls

--Distilled water 100 mls
