Queen's Medical Centre

The hospital can be found on the western side of the city of Nottingham. It is situated just on the east side (inside) of the Nottingham Ring Road at its junction with the A52 to Derby.

By bus

Plenty of buses run to the QMC from Nottingham, Derby and Loughborough. The L12 service runs from University Park, to QMC, Jubilee and the City Hospital. A Medilink service operates between the two hospitals and the 53 links the City Hospital, Jubilee Campus, QMC/University Park Campus and King's Meadow Campus.  See bus services for further information.

 

By tram
The tram line to Toton Lane stops at QMC. Please see the NET website for further information.
 

From the M1 motorway

Leave the M1 motorway at Junction 25, and take the A52 to Nottingham.  Carry on along the A52 past Stapleford, Bramcote and Wollaton Park.  Shortly after Wollaton Park you will pass the University on your right hand side and approach a large roundabout.  Here you will see Queen's Medical Centre on the right. Turn right at the roundabout and take the first slip road on the left.

City Hospital

City Hospital is located in Sherwood, Nottingham, just off the junction between the A6514 and the A611. You may find it useful to visit the City Hospital website, where you can find travel information and a map of the Medical School location.

By bus
Nottingham City Transport runs a range of services from Nottingham to the City Hospital. For service and timetable information visit the Nottingham City Transport website. The L12 service runs from University Park, to QMC, Jubilee and the City Hospital. From the M1 motorway 
Leave the motorway at junction 26, following the A610 to Nottingham City Centre. Turn left at the junction with the ring road (A6514 Western Boulevard). Continue along the A6514 and turn left at the second roundabout into Edwards Lane. Take the second entrance on the left.

Royal Derby Hospital

The Royal Derby Hospital is just a 10 minute drive from Derby's town centre, and is located just off the A516. 

By bus
A range of bus services stop at Royal Derby Hospital, including the University’s free hopper bus from University Park. Trent Barton operates the Red Arrow, which is a non-stop service between QMC and Derby bus station; connecting services run from the bus station to Royal Derby Hospital. See bus services for further information .
 

From Derby city centre and the east
    • The Royal Derby Hospital is well signed
    • The preferred route is via Burton Road A5250, turning RIGHT at the top of the hill (traffic lights) into Manor Road (A5111), down the hill and then filter LEFT at the traffic lights into Uttoxeter Road
    • Turn into the old entrance on your left after a few hundred metres
    • Follow the hospital ring road round to the right, past the Kings Treatment Centre (on left), past the hospital delivery area (on left) and we are signed The Medical School on the left
 

From the south
  • On the ring road (A5111), you will come to a hill (traffic lights with Burton Road), straight ahead down the hill then filter LEFT at the traffic lights into Uttoxeter Road
  • Turn into the old entrance on your left after a few hundred metres
  • Follow the hospital ring road round to the right, past the Kings Treatment Centre (on left), past the hospital delivery area (on left) and we are signed The Medical School on the left
 

From the north via A38
  • Take the signed turnoff after the Markeaton A52/A38 roundabout to the traffic light junction with Uttoxeter Road
  • Filter right onto the Uttoxeter Road
  • Turn into the old entrance on your left after a few hundred metres
  • Follow the hospital ring road round to the right, past the Kings Treatment Centre (on left), past the hospital delivery area (on left) and we are signed The Medical School on the left.
 

From the south via A38
  • Turn off at the Derby City Centre turnoff (A516) and you will enter the new Hospital entrance directly from the A38 spur roundabout.
  • The hospital entrance is the 3rd turn and is marked
  • Follow the hospital ring road round to the right, past the Kings Treatment Centre (on left), past the hospital delivery area (on left) and we are signed The Medical School on the left.
