** VROOM! is a DirectX graphics product. For best performance and effect, install VROOM! under Windows 98 with DirectX version 6. VROOM! will also run under Windows NT4 but the graphics is not accelerated. Microsoft does not as yet support DirectX version 6 under NT4. These system requirements are identical to other DirectX applications like Microsoft Flight Simulator.

Earthworks VROOM! is authored by Nottingham University AIMS Research and published and distributed by Earthworks Corporation. Use VROOM! to create realistic virtual mine models complete with natural surface textures, trucks, haulage routes, drill-rigs, dozers, draglines, service vehicles, personnel and mining landscape features. Then take a drive down the haul road - this is more than a visualizer because it puts you right in the driver's seat.

These virtual modelling and navigation tools are not restricted to just surface mine models either; most underground wireframe model designs and civil excavation designs can also be imported. Data Source Drivers supplied with VROOM! support AutoCAD DWG and DXF file formats plus selected mine planning programs like Datamine and Surpac. A selection of surface and underground sample virtual worlds are supplied with the program.
