Description

Lord Jim O'Neill, economist and member of the House of Lords

Tackling drug resistance infections – are we moving fast enough?

Imagine a world where routine surgery is life-threatening? Or where a simple infection can no longer be tackled by antibiotics? This could become our reality, if the problem of spreading drug resistance is not combated.

This year, a ground-breaking report published by the Review on Antimicrobial Resistance and led by Lord O’Neill, proposed recommendations about how to tackle this global issue, informing strategies adopted by the UK Government and the United Nations. Join our free lecture in January and hear Lord O'Neill offer his unique perspective on one of the biggest challenges facing the world today.
