PC Finder service launched
A new service has been launched, providing students and staff with locations of available PCs in Information Services computer rooms, libraries and teaching rooms around the UK campuses.
PC Finder can be accessed from PCs and smart phones and quickly identifies the location of available PCs, rather than users having to go to the area in person to look for a free terminal.
The information, which is updated every three minutes, is also shown on local plasma screens. For example, in Hallward Library, the screen shows a summary of PCs available in the library, together with maps of each area on that level as well as a summary of nearby buildings with their computer availability.
Library publications for new students
Information on how to start using IT and library services has been published to all new students for the start of session.
A selection of Information guides are available for you to download. Print versions were distributed through halls, Schools (for Postgraduates) and libraries.
