Visitors to Food Sciences

The Food Structure Group is involved in a Marie Curie Initial Training Network funded from the European Community's 7th Framework Programme FP7/2007-2013 under Grant Agreement No. 214015. As part of this Network Nottingham has hosted Dr Li Day from CSIRO, Australia, to aid in the education and scientific development of the 4 PhD fellows whose main base in the Network is at Nottingham. Fellows are encouraged to seek secondments with other participating knowledge institutes and industry, and this year the University of Nottingham has hosted Dr Ivana Tatarova from the University of Innsbruck, and Nicolleta Terinte from Lenzing, Austria. Secondees arriving before Christmas 2010 will be Loan Thi To Vo from the University of Innsbruck and Dr Alexis Paul from Unilever, The Netherlands. Also as part of this Ms Nagamani Koganti, one of the Nottingham fellows, is visiting the Thüringisches Institut für Textil- und Kunststoff-Forschung (TITK) at Rudolstadt in Germany for one month.

Dr Washington Magalhaes is visiting, for a period of 6 months, from the EMBRAPA research organisation in Brazil, on a Researcher Exchange scheme in collaboration with the LACE Bioethanol programme.  He will be conducting studies on biomass modifications until December 2010.
