Botanical University Challenge 2023

Nottingham hosts the finals of Botanical University Challenge 2023. The first in-person finals of BUC since the pandemic are hosted by last year's winners: Nottingham.

The School of Biosciences hosted the finals of Botanical University Challenge 2023, an annual quiz event for plant-friendly students, and the first ever student botany festival 5-6 July 2023. Students (mostly undergraduates) from across the UK and Ireland came to University Park took part in the quiz finals, and then participated in activities including a careers workshops, trip to Beeston Sidings nature reserve, and a visit to Sutton Bonington campus to the Hounsfield Facility and the Wheat Research Centre. Mandy Rasmussen acted as a question-wrangler and Malcolm Bennett gave the festival's keynote talk. The local organiser was Susie Lydon.
