Biography

I am working as a postdoctoral research fellow at University of Nottingham. I have previously worked as a postdoctoral fellow at the University of Chicago, USA (2022-2023), Nanjing University of Information Science and Technology, China (2021-2022), and Northwest A&F University, China (2019-2021). I received my PhD degree in soil science from Northwest A&F University, China (2014-2018). I have got my Bachelors and Masters degrees in soil science from University of Agriculture Faisalabad, Pakistan (2006-2012). My research is focused on the biogeochemistry of nitrogen and carbon in agroecosystems.

Expertise Summary

As a soil scientist, my research focuses on the biogeochemical cycling of carbon and nitrogen within cropland systems. With a primary focus on advancing mechanistic understanding, I investigate greenhouse gas emissions, nitrogen-induced soil acidification, and inorganic carbon losses from soils. Extending my research scope, I am currently exploring the impacts of various cultivation practices on soil structure and root architecture, employing cutting-edge X-ray computed tomography imaging techniques at the University of Nottingham.

My expertise encompasses the design and execution of experiments, a diverse range of soil and plant analyses, proficient data management and analysis, and manuscript crafting. I excel in effectively communicating research findings through various channels and possess a knack for creating visually engaging figures and diagrams to elucidate complex soil mechanisms with clarity.

With a proven track record of publishing in reputable journals and widespread citation of my work, I am dedicated to advancing our understanding of soil science and contributing to sustainable agricultural practices.
