Early Career Support

CAS offers a broad range of support for Early Career Researchers. To this end we offer one-to-one support to help individuals identify research opportunities and offer support as required through to the submission of a research application. This includes costing the proposal through our Funding Office and help with bid writing from the RBDO team.

We also run Early Career Events focused on specific research opportunities (for example post-doctoral funding competitions) and more general events to provide an overview on the range of schemes tailored to Early Career Researchers. We also offer ideas on how to establish a research funding profile with funders through research planning. Early Career Researchers are also encouraged to employ the resources of the Graduate School in furthering their research and teaching ambitions.

CAS staff are also happy to offer support to external Early Career Researchers wishing to come to Nottingham for post-doctoral research, once their proposed host School at Nottingham has agreed to their proposed application.

CAS offers initial support to Early Career Researchers who intend to move to a different institution. However, we urge all applicants to start working with our equivalents in the proposed host institution so that the processes and priorities of that institution are reflected in any proposal.
