Andrew Haldane, Chief Economist from the Bank of England will give a public lecture on Tuesday 23 February 2016 at 5pm at The University of Nottingham. The venue will be A48 Sir Clive Granger on University Park Campus. Free parking is available after 4.30pm in the main visitor car park located behind the Sir Clive Granger Building.Title: The Dappled World
"The financial crisis has led policy makers around the world to question and rethink the established set of frameworks and paradigms for understanding the modern economy and financial system. And a number of Central Banks have developed, or are in the process of developing, new tools and policy levers to better understand and moderate the dynamics of economic and financial systems.
This lecture - 'The Dappled World' - will explore how drawing on a wider array of scientific and academic disciplines can help us better understand the economic and financial system we live in today and frame policy choices to improve the functioning of this system - from history to psychology, meteorology to engineering, statistics to complexity theory."View the advertising poster (PDF)
