5th Congress of the Federation of African Chemical Societies Is Well Underway

The 5th Congress of the Federation of African Chemical Societies is off to a great start in Abuja, Nigeria this week with the Opening Ceremony on Monday.The University is represented by the School of Chemistry’s Professor Pete Licence and PhD student Mr Ejike Dick, pictured here at the High Commissioner’s residence.

The first day commenced with a series of talks which concluded with a relaxing evening which was hosted by Olukunle Akindele Bamgbose, the British High Commissioner to Nigeria at his Residence in Abuja. The evening was arranged to celebrate the contribution of international collaboration to the successful delivery of Research, professional training and capacity building.

The evening reception was attended by a variety of guests from around the world including Morocco, Tunisia, Ethiopia, Kenya, Nigeria, USA, South Africa and the United Kingdom who even received an unexpected tour of the scenic suburbs.

Professor Licence is due to give his plenary today at the Congress.
