The School of Chemistry is proud to announce that Dr June McCombie was awarded an MBE for her work on the Institute of Physics’ Widening Participation/Diversity programme and particularly her Chairmanship of the Juno project from 2008-2012.
Dr McCombie has for many years worked closely with the Institute of Physics on their Diversity Programme. Wearing various hats she was a member of their Diversity and Inclusion Committee for some 10 years and more specifically from 2008-2012 she chaired Project Juno: an IoP initiative to address employment equality in university physics departments.
The Juno Project rewards university physics departments which address the under-representation of women in their employment. Dr McCombie has also been a member of the Institute of Physics Diversity and Inclusion Committee for over ten years.
