Dr. Adrienne Davis obtained BSc Hons (1985) and PhD (1989) degrees in Chemistry from the University of Bristol. Following a 2 year post-doctoral position at the SERC high-field NMR service based at Warwick University, she moved into industry taking up a post at Unilever Research (Colworth Laboratory). Her responsibilities there included management of the high resolution NMR facility and her research interests included application of NMR spectroscopy to problems in safety clearance and foods research, with particular emphasis on tea chemistry.
Dr. Davis was appointed to the position of Analytical Services Manager in the School of Chemistry at Nottingham in 2002. She oversees the operation of the School's NMR (6 spectrometers), MS (4 spectrometers) and elemental microanalysis (CHN) services in support of organic and inorganic synthetic chemistry researchers.
