About Us

As the largest department of its kind in Europe, the Department of American and Canadian Studies is a bustling and exciting community.

We host and organise regular events of all kinds, from large academic conferences to film festivals, and we work with other institutions, organisations and the local community on numerous collaborative projects.

We also work closely with schools and colleges in the local area, as well as other interested groups, offering a termly programme of public lectures, outreach events for students considering university study, workshops and gallery tours.
