Drawing on current scholarship on the time and temporalities of art and art history, this conference will capture the many 'times' contained and sustained within painting, taking on the temporalities involved in its production, display and reception, as well as those citational and allegorical references that pull individual paintings across time and space.

Successful Transnational Radical Film Cultures Conference

Description
The Transnational Radical F?ilm Cultures Conference was held on University Park Campus on 3-5 June 2019. This conference brought together 93 film scholars, filmmakers and artists from 5 continents to discuss critical issues concerning the social, cultural and political relevance of film, media and art in contemporary times.

Fellowship awards for postgraduate students

Description
Congratulations to American and Canadian Studies postgraduate students Hannah Rose Murray, who has been awarded a Leverhulme postdoctoral fellowship at the University of Edinburgh, and Steve Gallo, who has been awarded a Fellowship at the Filson Historical Society.Well done also to Will Atkin (Cultural, Media and Visual Studies) who will take up a Leverhulme Fellowship at Nottingham in May.
