Biography

My upcoming monograph, entitled 'From Harry Potter to the Wizarding World', traces the development of the Harry Potter franchise in the 2010s. My research and teaching interests lie in contemporary franchising, media marketing and promotion, the cinema exhibition industry, and adaptation.

- A journal article on the representation of carers in British TV (with Louise Oldridge)

- An edited collection on the phenomenon of live, immersive horror events (with Kieran Foster)

- A book chapter on the legacy of Hannibal Lecter in Hannibal (2012-15) and Clarice (2020)

- An edited collection on the legacy of Buffy the Vampire Slayer, 30 years on (with Kieran Foster)

I am also interested in researching the cinema exhibition industry with a particular interest in independent cinemas in the Midlands.
