Biography
I studied English and Italian with a Teaching a and later did a Postgraduate Certificate for teaching German and Project Development at the same university.
Before joining the University of Nottingham, I worked in the German Department of the University of Sheffield for one year as an Austrian lector, where I taught language and content modules like "Medien und Öffentlichkeit" and "Österreich heute". Previous to that, I was an Austrian lector for two years at the German Department of the University of St Andrews. In this role, I was coordinating and teaching German language modules.
In both universities, I was engaged in a number of extracurricular activities and projects.

Current Research
My research interests lie in the methodology and pedagogy of foreign language learning and teaching, global and intercultural learning and foreign language teaching policy. My diploma dissertation was completed in Vienna under the title "Global and Intercultural Learning (GIL) in the EFL classroom". I am interested in developing teaching material for the various levels of the Common European Framework for Languages (CEFR) and on how to foster collaboration on campus.

Future Research
We are in the process of setting up a group of German foreign language teachers to work on a grammar book for the British sector. The first meeting was held in spring 2015.
