Online success for Nottingham programming course

Professor Graham Hutton with his Haskell textbook

The first year module, G51FUN Functional Programming, has been turned into a free massive open online course (MOOC) with more than 30,000 participants. The module teaches the basic principles of functional programming, using the leading-edge language Haskell. The course was developed by Professor Graham Hutton, Director of Research, and co-leader of the Functional programming research group at the School. The course is based upon his bestselling Haskell textbook, which is used by students and lecturers worldwide. Click here for full story
