School of Computer Science wins Best School at the University Staff Oscar Awards for the second year running!

The School of Computer Science has won a staff oscar award for Best School/Department for 2014! This is the second year in a row that the School has won this award. The Staff Oscars is a student-led event, with students nominating staff of their schools for categories such as: Most Inspiring Teachers, Best Dissertation Supervisor, Best Member of Support Staff and Best School/Department.

The School is as ever extremely honoured to have been awarded this Oscar, and even more honoured that students took the time to nominate us! We are proud to be able to offer our students excellent teaching, a great community, outstanding support and of course plenty of cake!

On receipt of the award Head of School Uwe Aickelin said:

"I am absolutely delighted that we have won this award a second time in a row! Over the last few years the School has transformed itself to put students at the centre of all our activities and it’s great to see our efforts are being recognised.  I would like to thank all the staff and students for putting in so much hard work to make these changes successful. We will continue to develop the School to further build on these results. It's an unbelievable achievement to be honoured once more in this way by the Student Union for the teaching and support we provide to our students."
