#MeantToBe 2016 student competition terms and conditions

Were you always #MeantToBe friends with your uni mates? Share the story of how you met your friends here and you could win a £50 Amazon gift voucher. You can share your story on Instagram or Twitter, or step inside the #UoNVideoBox and tell us how you met. Full terms and conditions below.

Submissions – photographs

The competition is open to all current students based in the UK at The University of Nottingham.

All photographs should be submitted via Instagram or Twitter and include the hashtag #MeantToBe and @mention @uniofnottingham.

You can submit your photograph at any time between Tuesday 1 March – Friday 17 June 2016.

If your photograph is deemed inappropriate it will not be considered for a prize.

Submissions – #UoNVideoBox

The #UoNVideoBox will be available on campuses on specific dates for students to submit their stories.  Details of where to find the UoNVideoBox will be advertised on the University social media channels.

There is no restriction on how many students can record a story in the UoNVideoBox – the more the merrier! However, only one prize will be awarded per recording, see further details below.

Any students wishing to submit their story for a prize must record their story in the box and then tweet a selfie to @uniofnottingham using the hashtag #UoNVideoBox. We’ll match your image to the footage we get from the UoNVideoBox. If you record a story but don’t tweet a selfie you won’t be considered for a prize.

Copyright

By submitting a photograph or recording a story in the UoNVideoBox you are giving the University a non-exclusive, royalty-free worldwide licence to use your image/recording in any format. You will still own the copyright to anything you contribute.

It is essential that permission has been obtained from everyone appearing in the photograph or appearing in the UoNVideoBox.

Prizes

Each week that the competition is running during term time, one prize will be awarded to a submission from Instagram/Twitter and one to a submission from the UoNVideobox.

The prize will be given to the individual who submitted the entry. That individual is responsible for sharing the prize with anyone else featured in the story if appropriate.

Each prize will be a £50 Amazon gift voucher. No alternative prize will be offered and The University of Nottingham reserves the right to change the prizes at any time.

Judging

The informal judging panel will be made up of staff from the University’s External Relations team.

The University will award prizes based on the story behind the image as well as the image itself, and the way the story is told in the #UoNVideoBox.

The University will contact the winners via Twitter or Instagram to arrange collection of the prize.
