Take part in a study investigating perfectionism among medical students

Female postgraduate student is learning how to check IV fluids, QMC 714x249

A third year medical student is conducting a research project looking at medical students’ experiences of perfectionism and being high achievers. Second year and above medical students are wanted to contribute to this study.

The study investigates how students’ experiences have impacted upon their lives and their studies. It consists of a survey and a short interview. Students who take part in the survey will receive a £5 inconvenience allowance.

If you can answer yes to any of the following questions then we’d like to hear from you:

• Do you never feel satisfied with your achievements, or worry a lot about making mistakes?
• Have you ever felt that others have expected perfection from you? Or had others say you’re a high achiever?
• Do you tend to be critical of yourself when you don’t reach your own high standards?
• Have you ever struggled to get essays, coursework or other assessments finished, for fear that they won’t be ‘perfect’?

If you’re interested in taking part, register online or contact Charlotte Ho for more information.

The closing date for survey responses is Friday 8 December.
