Code of practice for handling allegations of research misconduct

Monday, 03 February 2020
The University now has a dedicated code of practice on the handling of allegations of research misconduct, which applies to all PGR students across our UK, China and Malaysia campuses.

The process described in this code replaces the process described under the section “Procedures for Dealing with Allegations of Research Misconduct” in the current Code of Research Conduct and Research Ethics (Version 6a (revised March 2019)).

The code defines research misconduct activities in line with the Concordat to Support Research Integrity, and is in line with UK Research Integrity Office recommendations and meets the expectations of research funders and regulatory bodies. The scope of the code makes a clear distinction from The Academic Misconduct Procedure for students and the Whistleblowing (Public Interest Disclosure) Code.

All PGR students are required to familiarise themselves with the new code of practice, which can be found on our Ethics and integrity pages.

For any queries please contact the Head of Research Integrity, Ali Alshukry.
