Fancy learning a new skill this year?

Tuesday, 02 January 2024
Learning a new language can open up a world of opportunities to you – and you don’t have to be a languages student to enrol on our modules.

The Language Centre

The Language Centre offers nine languages to choose from, and you can start as a beginner or at a more advanced level, earning credits towards your degree along the way.

Modules are taught in small, friendly groups with lots of opportunity to practise in an environment where you don’t need to worry about making mistakes.

Whether you fancy opening up travel opportunities, continuing a language you enjoyed studying at school, or simply want to meet new people, the Language Centre modules may be just the thing you need to get your new year off to a great start.

Find out how Luigi’s experience of learning German at the Language Centre helped him find his way to studying a master’s degree at the Central European University in Vienna.

Contact the Language Centre to find the right language at the right level for you. Registrations are open throughout the module enrolment change of mind period (12 noon, Monday 29 January – 5pm, Friday 9 February).'

The Nottingham Confucius Institute

Interested in learning Mandarin? The Nottingham Confucius Institute is offering a range of courses with discounted rates available to UoN students.

Mandarin is becoming an increasingly useful language around the world. It can open new vistas, whether you're engaged in business, education, travelling or just making friends. It's also a great way to exercise the brain after a festive break!

There are evening and weekend classes available as well as private lessons, in person and online, all taught by experience language teachers from Fudan University (a top 3 China university).

Courses commence on Saturday 20 January.
