New drop-in study spaces to be made available on campus

Friday, 06 November 2020
Libraries staff have been working with teams from across the University to find and prepare a range of new spaces for use by students.

These new spaces will be set up to provide individual, socially distanced space suitable for use between on campus teaching sessions or as study space. Unlike bookable study space in library buildings, these spaces will be available on a walk-in basis during building opening times.

The first of these spaces to be available for use by students will be the Senate Chamber and Great Hall in the Trent Building on University Park campus. These spaces will be available from Monday 9 November. Available spaces can be identified by the ‘Study here’ signs and posters. An updated list of available spaces and facilities within them can be found below.

Students will be expected to follow the University’s COVID-19 safety guidance when using these spaces, including wearing a face covering unless exempt and maintaining social distancing. Hygiene supplies will be available including hand sanitiser and wipes to clean surfaces before and after use. Safety guidance will be available in the space and will include details of who to contact to report any issues.

Libraries staff are working on the next phase of additional space (including space at other campuses). Visit the Libraries website for the latest list of spaces.
