Microsoft are discontinuing the application known as ’Classic Stream’ – the system where all Microsoft Teams recordings were stored prior to July 2022. Take action to save your recordings.
In July 2022, Microsoft changed the storage location of Teams recordings from Stream to being saved directly in your OneDrive or Teams Channel.
Any recordings held in Classic Stream, will be deleted when Microsoft shut down the service on Sunday 1 October 2023.
Action required
If you have recordings or video(s) saved in Classic Stream, please take the action below:
- Sign into Microsoft Classic Stream
- Review any content in Stream
- If the video content is important to you, you should download it from Classic Stream and store the file in a safe location – we recommend your OneDrive

It is vital you download and transfer content before Classic Stream shuts down on Sunday 1 October 2023.
