Acquire the digital skills you need to be successful in your degree.

The Digital Student module provides you with learning resources to develop the skills and knowledge that will help you in your university education whilst preparing you for life in the workplace after graduation.

The module is particularly beneficial for first year students and skills learned will be fundamental to your first month of study.

Digital learning competencies are based on the systems and approaches you will encounter as you begin your journey at the University of Nottingham and as you move through your journey towards becoming a digital graduate.

This module covers 6 main areas:

  • Digital Communication, collaboration and participation - how well can you use technology to communicate with others?
  • Digital Information, media and data - how well can you use technology to access information and how do you manage digital information sources?
  • Digital Proficiency and productivity - how well can you use digital tools to perform learning tasks, such as taking notes or storing information?
  • Digital Identity and Wellbeing - how well can you keep yourself and others safe online, protect your identity and you health and wellbeing?
  • Digital Learning - this focuses on how well you can use platforms that are specifically aimed at learning
  • Digital Creativity, innovation and problem solving - how well can you use digital tools for creation of material and for innovation?

Digital learning is a key element of your overall course. Once you've arrived you'll then be provided with additional information, through your School and through the Digital Student module on Moodle.
