Think twice before going to A&E

Wednesday, 17 May 2023
Help reduce pressure on emergency departments by thinking carefully about which service you use.

NHS services in Nottingham are under pressure with an increased attendance within emergency departments such as hospitals and urgent treatment centres.

Do your part and think carefully about which service you use to ensure the NHS can continue to provide timely urgent care for those who need it the most.

Only attend emergency departments if it is an urgent or life-threatening emergency. If your condition is not life or limb-threating, please call 111 or use NHS 111 Online.

Pharmacies are a great first port of call for minor health issues and can advise on whether you need to use another NHS service.

Use the pharmacy finder to locate your nearest one.

See the below illustration for help selecting the right health service.
