Whether you're a new student to Nottingham, or returning; welcome to postgraduate life at The University of Nottingham!

The first few weeks can be hectic, so we have included important information and a checklist below to make sure you do not miss out on opportunities, such as PG Welcome Week.

You should have already received your Welcome Guide which is a handy source of information to keep with you over the first few weeks and beyond.

Sports facilities

The University offers superb sports and leisure facilities on all three UK campuses.

Sports membership is an excellent way to access the facilities. Find out more about the membership options available. 

Careers

The Careers and  Employability Service provide a wealth of support for postgraduate students from the well-stocked resource area, to timetabled fairs and events held throughout the year.

PGSA

Postgraduate students receive automatic membership to the Postgraduate Students' Association (PGSA).

As part of the Students' Union, the PGSA runs social events and represents postgraduate interests.

 

International Office

The International Office has a dedicated team of experienced staff to support international students during their studies.

This includes offering guidance and advice, resources, drop-in sessions and social events.

Graduate School

All postgraduate students have access to the Graduate School – a dedicated resource for our postgraduate community. The Graduate School and  Graduate Centres work to provide events, study spaces, advice and development opportunities.

Student Services Centres are based on all three UK campuses  to make sure you can access any support or information you need.

Specialist staff are on hand to offer advice on academic, financial and disability issues and more.

 

Checklist: Now you are here

  • Postgraduate Welcome Week - Attend a week of social and educational events from 24-28 September, held to give you the opportunity to meet other students, visit the Graduate School and spend time in your academic School before teaching begins.
  • Registration - if you are a full-time student you must confirm your attendance in person on Monday 24 or Tuesday 25 September (depending on your School). International students who registered during International Welcome Week do not need to register for a second time.
  • Attend Freshers' Fair (26-28 September) - this takes place next to the sports centre (University Park). Here, you can find out about everything your Students' Union has to offer, including sports clubs and societies. 
  • Attend your specific school/department induction session - details will be sent directly from your school/department and can also be found on the portal.
  • Attend your module enrolment - details will be sent directly from your school/department and can also be found on the portal.
  • Attend a Health Centre registration event - you can join Cripps Health Centre by taking your completed medical registration forms to the registration event in Trent Building between 24-26 September. For students at Sutton Bonington Campus, seperate instructions will be provided on your arrival.
