The School of Education's research is among the most significant and influential of its kind in the world.

The School of Education has a strong commitment to developing our discipline and offers a rich environment for those looking to undertake postgraduate research.

Our research takes an interest in understanding 'what works' in education, and how we can improve educational practices and policy. We locate these concerns within a broader set of questions around 'what matters'. What is the role of education in contributing to a more fulfilling, richer, and socially-just quality of life, both for individuals and society?

We organise our research through six different research centres and we have a diverse range of partners, from teachers and community organisers in Nottingham through to national governments and international policy bodies.

Six research centres are hosted within the School of Education and much of the research portfolio is aimed at having a real impact upon learners, organisations and educational systems.

Researcher profile

Kay Fuller is an Associate Professor and convenor of the Centre for Research in Educational Leadership and Management. Her research focuses on women, gender and feminism in educational leadership.

The Hong Kong Experience Project

Description: The Hong Kong Experience project is looking for recent Hong Kong immigrant families with children (aged 5-11) to share their stories. The project aims to support Nottingham in becoming a UNICEF Child-Friendly and inclusive society.
