Careers event for English students

On Wednesday 10th November there will be an afternoon of talks and roundtable discussions that will give you the opportunity to think about particular career options.

If you are interested in any of the following, DON’T MISS OUT ON THIS OPPORTUNITY!

- Postgraduate study 
- A career in law 
- Training to be a primary or secondary school teacher 
- Teaching English abroad 
- Volunteering and work experience while studying, and after university

1 p.m.
Dr Christina Lee will talk about Masters opportunities in the School and you will also have the chance to talk to current postgraduate students about funding, their work, and the early stages of an academic career

2 p.m.
Rosie Burbidge, a graduate from the School of English Studies, will talk about a career in law

2:45 p.m.
Dr Sarah Grandage: ‘Teaching English as a Foreign Language’

3.15 p.m.
Sam Greville-Smith, President of the English Society, will talk about literacy volunteering

3.30 p.m.
Joanna McIntryre from the School of Education will talk about the PGCE course, and another recent graduate from the School of English Studies, Caroline Adams, will be here to talk about her experiences so far as a PGCE student.
