Postgraduate Open Day in the School of English Studies on 1 December 2010

Description

The School of English Studies will be holding a Postgraduate Open Day for anyone interested in postgraduate study.  All are welcome to this event to find out more about our Masters courses, research degrees and funding opportunities in  2011.  If you would like to attend the Postgraduate Open Day please email english-postgrad@nottingham.ac.uk

Programme of Events in A54, Trent Building, University Park Campus

For Masters Students
10.15 am – tea/coffee on arrival
10.30 am - Masters welcome by the Director of Masters Courses (Dr Christina Lee)
10.45 am - Sectional representatives from Masters programmes to give a short talk about:
                  Creative Writing
                  Drama and Performance 
                  English Language and Applied Linguistics 
                  Literature 1500 and beyond
                  Medieval Language and Literature
11.15 am - Current Masters students to speak about their experiences of postgraduate study
11.30 am – tea/coffee and meet current staff and students
12.00 pm - tour of PG facilities with current Masters and PhD students

For Research Students
12.00 pm - tour of PG facilities with current Masters and PhD students
1.00 pm – tea/coffee on arrival
1.15 pm - PhD welcome by the Deputy Director of PhD students (Dr Michaela Mahlberg)
1.30 pm - Sectional supervisory representatives to speak 
                Drama and Performance 
                English Language and Applied Linguistics 
                Literature 1500 and beyond 
                Medieval Language and Literature
2.00 pm - Short talk by current PhD students
2.15 pm – tea/coffee and meet current staff and students

An information desk will be open throughout the day until 3.00 pm
