Description

Enhancing the Joint Honours Experience

Keynote Speaker: Dr. John Hodgson, author of The Experience of Joint Honours Students of English in UK Higher Education (HEA, 2011)

This half-day conference will draw on a broad range of experiences from across the University and beyond to explore ways of further recognising and addressing the particular needs of Joint Honours students.

Specifically, we wish to identify areas where the provision of pastoral care can be enhanced and tailored to the requirements of students working within distinct departments or schools.

With contributions from staff and students, the conference seeks to share best practice and explore the challenges and opportunities resulting from the multi-disciplinary nature of joint honours programmes.

The conference is being funded by the University's Teaching and Learning Strategy Fund and is free of charge. Conference proceedings will be disseminated and will form an integral part of future policy development.

The conference programme is available here.

Conference organisers: Dr Matt Green and Wenonah Barton

To book your place and assit with catering, please register by Friday 27 April 2012 and include any dietary requirements.
