May Fest and the School of English: Create and Communicate!

Description

The School of English invites you to come along to the University May Fest on Saturday 18 May 2013. 

We are running a range of activities, all based at or starting from our stand in the Portland Building.

On the day, from 11:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., visitors can get involved with the following, at any time:

  • Language games and activity sheets
  • Working with manuscripts and exploring medieval manuscripts online
  • Exploring Viking culture and society
  • Finding out about the origins of your surname
  • Seeing where writers lived and worked in Nottingham
  • Chatting to students and staff about our work in the School of English

We have timetabled activities, too:

  • 11:00am – 1:50am: Scribe – exploring manuscripts, exploring our history; a workshop for 7-9 year olds. 
  • 1:30pm-2:20pm: Stories and storytelling; a workshop for 7-9 year olds.
