Description
Whose Life

Following publication of the acclaimed 'The Life of William Shakespeare: A Critical Biography' last year, Prof. Lois Potter (University of Delaware) will be visiting Nottingham to talk about the issues involved in writing scholarly biography and intervening in a hotly contested field. Prof. Potter's work seeks to counter speculative tendencies in Shakespearean biography by addressing Shakespeare's life through his relatively neglected literary and historical contexts. This talk should be of interest to both those interested in the early modern period and those more generally interested in critical life writing.
