Beginner's Latin Course

Date(s)
Friday 21st February 2014 (14:00-15:30)
Description
The School of English and the IMR are pleased to announce the creation of a weekly Beginner’s Latin Course, which will take place on Fridays from 1-2:30 in Trent A35.  The course is designed as an informal study of the language, which will start at first principles of Latin grammar.  As the class is not assessed, this is an excellent way to get involved with Latin for anyone in an interest in the language.  Furthermore, for those studying the Middle Ages who do not have the time for a formal study of the language in an assessed module, this class will offer the opportunity for first-year proficiency of the language.

Additionally, the course will make use of Wheelock’s Latin (Wheelock, Frederick M., Wheelock’s Latin), starting with chapter one.  If you are interested in attending, e-mail Brent LaPadula, so that I have a sense of numbers and am able to get enough material together for our meetings.

Normally, our class will take place at the above-stated time and place; however, please note the slight amendment for the next two weeks:

Friday (21st): We will begin at 1400, instead of 1300

Friday (28th): Room change for this week only to C12 Trent
