Description
The School of English and the English & Media Centre (EMC) present a one-day training workshop for teachers of English, especially for A-level English Language and Literature.  The open-access online resource, ‘The Nottingham Stylistics Toolkit’ is aimed at UK teachers of English but also with wider international potential scope. This resource offers authoritative definitions, explanations, illustrations, and adaptable downloadable resources, drawing on the longstanding research expertise at the University of Nottingham in the field of literary stylistics. The launch event on 25th June is a day-long workshop and CPD training event for teachers, offering new ways of using the discipline of stylistics in classroom teaching. It builds on our two successful workshops this year at the EMC: our educational charity partner works to support English and Media teachers across GCSE and A-Level through publications, bespoke classroom resources, and continuing professional development events and courses (https://www.englishandmedia.co.uk).  The Nottingham Stylistics Toolkit will be launched at the event, and will then be available as a permanent open-access, free-to-use online resource. A hard copy of the Toolkit will be given to participants on the day.
