Dr Andrew Harrison awarded Vice Chancellor's Medal

Congratulations to Dr Andrew Harrison, Director of the DH Lawrence research centre, who has been awarded the Vice-Chancellor’s Medal in recognition of his work with numerous community outreach events helping local people in Eastwood and beyond understand and appreciate their literary heritage.

In particular, his work has centred on the following activities:

  • delivering a yearly programme of literacy work for students at Hall Park Academy (formerly Eastwood Comprehensive school);
  • organising regular reading groups for members of the public (organised in conjunction with the D.H. Lawrence Heritage centre);
  • co-organising and co-delivering the annual D.H. Lawrence heritage festival
  • using Youtube and Twitter to communicate with and inspire a new generation

Dr Harrison will be presented with his medal at a ceremony with the Vice Chancellor in October 2016.
