Honorary Lecturers feature in press

Honorary Lecturers in the School of English have featured in the press recently.

Stephen Lowe's play The Ragged-Trousered Philanthropist, which opened in the Hackney Empire last month, was reviewed in The Guardian. The performance in was described as 'close-to-the-heart real' in Mark Dornford-May's new production.

Ruth Fainlight has also featured, contributing to Poet Laureate Carol Ann Duffy's invitation recall a year in verse in celebration of the Queen's Diamond Jubilee. For the published book, Jubilee Lines: 60 Poets for 60 Years, Ruth wrote 'World Events' for the year 1963. You can read Ruth's poem here alongside others commissioned for the book. Ruth's 'The Coloration of Feathers' was featured earlier this year in Carol Rumen's 'Poem of the week'.
