DTC Student Josephine Bardi shortlisted for Student Nursing Times Award

The DTC is delighted to learn that one of its students - Josephine Bardi - has been shortlisted for a Student Nursing Times Award.

Now in their 6th year, the Student Nursing Times Awards pay tribute to students who have demonstrated the academic achievement, clinical prowess and personal qualities that will make them brilliant nurses. They also recognise and reward outstanding educational establishments and honouring those who are committed to developing new nursing talent as mentors, lecturers and providers of placements.

Josephine is a PhD Mental Health and Wellbeing student funded by the Nottingham ESRC Doctoral Training Centre and registered in the School of Health Sciences. She has been shortlisted in the 'Student Experience' category in recognition of the Raising Awareness of Mental Health in Higher Education (RAMHHE) event she organised and ran in October 2016. The event aimed to draw together students and a number of local and national organisations in order to create a safe and supportive space to discuss mental health in the Higher Education sector, and think about ways the mental health of students and staff alike can be better supported.

Speaking of her nomination, Josephine said: "I sincerely cannot believe that we have achieved this since June, from a successful ESRC grant approval to a successful conference in October and now the RAMHHE campaign has leapt into the finalist and nominees for the Students Nursing Times Awards in the Student Experience category. A very big thank you to all @RAMHHE supporters… http://ramhhe.org/"

The Student Nursing Times award ceremony will take place in London on 27th April 2017, at which the winners will be announced. We are sure you'll join us in wishing Josephine the very best of luck in her category!

‘In the absence of a stable mental health, the student experience is hindered and education attainment may be limited’ - Josephine Bardi
