'We are disabled people leading change' — Disability Rights UK
Disability Rights UK is a charity organisation whose vision is for equal participation for all. They work with organisations in all sectors to support them to put disabled people's priorities at the heart of their policies and practices. They work with disabled people to enable them to have a voice and campaign to strengthen and protect disabled people's rights. Disability Rights UK is itself led by people with diverse experiences of disability and health conditions and from different communities.
As part of Disability December, Disability Rights UK will be visiting the University on Tuesday 5 December to talk about disability. They will cover:
- the social model of disability
- what's included within the disability spectrum
- the importance of disclosing disability at work
- why people don't disclose and the impact this has on their working lives.
This is a free event open to staff at the University of Nottingham.
Booking is required.
