Stroke Research Partnership Group
The Nottingham Stroke Research Partnership Group (NSRPG) is a group of stroke survivors and carers who work with stroke researchers from the University of Nottingham.
The Group meets every month to review stroke research proposals. Where appropriate, lay members may also serve on research study steering groups or participate in research studies themselves.
The Group’s aim is to ensure stroke research conducted locally involves stroke patients and carers and is informed by their needs and wishes.
Information for researchers
If you have a stroke research proposal you would like to submit for review by the Nottingham Stroke Research Partnership Group, please contact Helen Taylor
h.taylor@nottingham.ac.uk to express an interest. You will be allocated a presentation slot at a forthcoming meeting.
Please provide a one-page A4 lay summary of the project to h.taylor@nottingham.ac.uk two weeks prior to the meeting. Your summary should include:
- title of study
- description / background details of the study
- three questions you wish the lay members to consider
Please prepare:
- A 5-10 minute presentation of your project to bring to the meeting
You will be asked questions on the day. There is usually a 15-minute Q&A session allowing input from lay members (stroke survivors and carers).
You will receive feedback after the meeting.
You will be expected to provide a status update, including whether funded or not, to the Group six months after presenting your proposal.
Information for Stroke Survivors
The Group is currently composed of 15 stroke survivors and carers who meet every month online. We also have a smaller group of virtual members who review research proposals and provide comments electronically.
If you have been impacted by stroke and are interested in becoming a member of the Group, please do get in touch either by emailing h.taylor@nottingham.ac.uk or ringing Helen Taylor on 0115 82 30246 or 07970 555001.
