Consultative Committee for Support Staff

Terms of Reference

The Consultative Committee for Support Staff provides a forum for communication, consultation and discussion between the University and support staff representatives regarding University policies, current issues and future developments. The Consultative Committee may concern itself with general issues regarding working conditions, training and welfare of support staff. Details of such issues will normally be raised through the appropriate University committee.

Matters which are the subject of national terms and conditions or Procedure Agreements with the recognised trade unions, UNISON and UNITE, may not be considered by the Consultative Committee, although points of information or clarification may be raised. Terms and conditions agreed locally, including pay negotiations for manual and APM (levels 1 - 3) staff, will be conducted by the Consultative Committee. However, where matters arise which affect only one (or two) support staff group(s), staff side and management side may agree to a Sub-Committee meeting of that group(s) to discuss the specific matter.

The Registrar may as appropriate draw items to the attention of the University Executive Board and University Council.
